Meditation for Beginners

So many people have said to me, “I want to meditate but I don’t know how to start.”

I highly recommend beginning your practice with Vipassana meditation. In Vipassana, we focus on the breath. Moreover, the one-pointedness of where we first feel the air as it enters on our inhale and where it exits on our exhale. The concentration on the breath as we inhale and as we exhale brings us back to the primordial and universal truth of the ride of life itself. For it is said that we come into this world on an inhale and exit it on an exhale. The depth to the advantages of Vipassana meditation are bottomless.

By focusing on our breath in this one-pointedness manner, we supersede the conscious mind. Bringing ourselves ever deeper inside, which is where all of our “stuff” is anyway. The final frontier is and always has been within us. Instructions for Vipassana meditation can be found in my Meditation 101 course. It is a 21 day course designed to help you create a daily habit of meditation.
